Sparring with Youth

My part of a trade/collab with Rioku Zakoi. Depending on how things go, and how I ended the story, I would not be surprised if this becomes a little series, at least regarding the match.

It was quite interesting writing out a match on my own rather than RPing one like I usually do. It was kinda fun and a little different ^^

Trying Out Plan B

Well, finally got around to uploading this one. It’s been a while since I’ve done commission, though I’m pretty happy with how the final piece turned out. Oddly enough, I’m also glad I didn’t go all the way with the sexual stuff in this one; I wanted the focus to be more on the relationship between the characters and not so much the sex (despite one of them having a high libido, probably x3).

When the Lights Go Out

The following post contains mature content. Please proceed if you’re comfortable/mature yourself with reading such things. Thank you.

FAIR WARNING: This story contains violent, sexual themes. If that bothers you, please do not read this story.

With that said, this is another old story I went back and revised. I’ll admit…this is the darkest story I’ve written so far, yet I like how it turned out in the end (even if it is short). I’ll most likely expand on this with these two characters, most likely staying in the same setting.

As always, if you do decide to read this, enjoy! Continue reading

An Old Friend

One of three commissions completed, and boy did I enjoy writing this one.

It’s a sequel to “Back for More” and features the same two characters from that story plus a new one. The commissioner wished to remain anonymous, but allowed me to post this to my gallery. Hope you all enjoy!

(I may mark this as “Adult” instead after uploading. It’s not explicitly sexual, but you’ll find out why towards the end.)

Bear in a Box

This was originally supposed to be for the Iron Pen competition for FM 2016, but I was a tad late on finishing this before the deadline. Still, I decided to finish it up and quickly go over it so I can share it with you guys.

Yes, this was a challenge. It had to be 1,000 words or less (this clocks in at 928), feature a character that’s a native species to Minnesota or feature the theme of migration, and include the “secret ingredient” in a prominent way. The “secret ingredient” was called: My secret origin. Even though the contest is long over by now, I still tried to keep to the guidelines for my own benefit.

Hope you enjoy! Continue reading

When a story is “finished” and should stay as such

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

I’ve hit a bit of a block with my progress on my submission to Roar 8, and this isn’t the first time I encountered this: I should have left “Runaways” well enough alone. I also have an incomplete story, “The Colony of Bats,” I wrote for a class a few semesters ago. I tried combining these two stories into one in the hopes of producing something new and worthwhile. However, in a weird way, I feel like I’m writing fanfic of my own fiction. I’m taking what’s already a good story and altering it to complete another original work. The reason I’m feeling this way is because I wasn’t producing something original for this anthology; I was rehashing older material.

Also, regarding “The Colony of Bats,” there was just too much world-building I still needed to do, primarily an unknown culture. That’s quite a lot of work I’d need to do in such a short amount of time. When I initially wrote this story, I barely had anything established for this culture, and I still don’t.

With that said, I guess it’s back to the drawing board. Right now, I’m thinking of expanding on a short writing exercise I did only about a month ago. It’s new, it’s fresh, it could still fit the theme “paradise,” and I think I can make it sound interesting. As for “Runaways” and “The Colony of Bats,” I’ll leave them where they are and put what I’ve already written in my scraps folder.

Honestly, even if I get rejected, I would still be happy; if anything, this is a learning experience. It would still be cool if I got published though, but I’ll let the editor be the judge of that.
