When the Lights Go Out

The following post contains mature content. Please proceed if you’re comfortable/mature yourself with reading such things. Thank you.

FAIR WARNING: This story contains violent, sexual themes. If that bothers you, please do not read this story.

With that said, this is another old story I went back and revised. I’ll admit…this is the darkest story I’ve written so far, yet I like how it turned out in the end (even if it is short). I’ll most likely expand on this with these two characters, most likely staying in the same setting.

As always, if you do decide to read this, enjoy! Continue reading

Frat Cats

If any of you follow Sampsonwoof, you know he likes to write little stories to go along with his personal artwork. I asked him if he’d let me take a stab at it, and he let me 😀

Hope you all enjoy the story, and check out the original upload here –> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23923989/

When a story is “finished” and should stay as such

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

I’ve hit a bit of a block with my progress on my submission to Roar 8, and this isn’t the first time I encountered this: I should have left “Runaways” well enough alone. I also have an incomplete story, “The Colony of Bats,” I wrote for a class a few semesters ago. I tried combining these two stories into one in the hopes of producing something new and worthwhile. However, in a weird way, I feel like I’m writing fanfic of my own fiction. I’m taking what’s already a good story and altering it to complete another original work. The reason I’m feeling this way is because I wasn’t producing something original for this anthology; I was rehashing older material.

Also, regarding “The Colony of Bats,” there was just too much world-building I still needed to do, primarily an unknown culture. That’s quite a lot of work I’d need to do in such a short amount of time. When I initially wrote this story, I barely had anything established for this culture, and I still don’t.

With that said, I guess it’s back to the drawing board. Right now, I’m thinking of expanding on a short writing exercise I did only about a month ago. It’s new, it’s fresh, it could still fit the theme “paradise,” and I think I can make it sound interesting. As for “Runaways” and “The Colony of Bats,” I’ll leave them where they are and put what I’ve already written in my scraps folder.

Honestly, even if I get rejected, I would still be happy; if anything, this is a learning experience. It would still be cool if I got published though, but I’ll let the editor be the judge of that.

Jamie Character Sketch

Someone from a “creatives” group chat on Telegram posed a weekend writing challenge: write one to three paragraphs that show a day in the life of your sona or a character of your choosing. I decided to give this a whirl and came up with this, in hopes to juice up my writing more. This is the first piece of writing to feature my wrestling sona, Jamie Bockmann (a.k.a. Kid Cobalt).

As always, let me know what you think!

Back for More

Second story commission I’ve written. This was an interesting one to write for a few reasons:

  1. I enjoyed the central theme the commissioner requested for this one.
  2. While this seems like a serious test of strength between two men, things get a little…silly (per commissioner request). That made writing this a bit interesting.
  3. This one gave me an opportunity to try my hand at writing action/fighting sequences.

This story is a little on the mature side due to strong language and mild violence.

The commissioner wishes I keep them anonymous, but have allowed me to post their story to my gallery.

Story Commissions, Requests, Trades

Hey Guys~

If you haven’t noticed on my Fur Affinity, Deviant Art, So Furry, and Weasyl accounts, I recently opened up for story commissions, request, and trades. So far, I’ve only gotten a couple bites on commissions, and I’m currently evaluating guidelines for requests (no payment) and trades (a piece of writing for another creative piece).

First off, if you would like for me to write you a story, you can send me a message on any of the aforementioned sites or send me a message here via the “Contact” page under the “About Ricky” page. Guidelines for commissions can be found on any of those sites; however, I do plan on centralizing where the guidelines for everything somewhere, as it will make updating the guidelines easier for me.

As WordPress isn’t a furry-exclusive site (neither is DA, but there’s all kinds of furry art there anyway), I’m debating on posting completed commissions to this blog, with the customer’s permission of course. I already plan on posting to my galleries by default. More than likely, these types of stories will feature any requested fetishes or kinks (because furries are weird), rather than “vanilla” sex as seen in my stories “The Last Time I Dated” and “Runaways.” So be warned.

Pressures

I wanted to write a prequel to my story “Runaways.” While I do like how that one started, I felt like the beginning could’ve used more. However, it would also make for a good coming-out story on its own.

As always, enjoy!

It was time. She fought against it for so long she couldn’t hide her secret anymore. For years, she kept her love for Rebecca from her mother. Amber knew her mother would freak out, drunk or sober, if she knew her only daughter was also attracted to women. She would be furious if she knew Rebecca wasn’t the same species of Humanalia, beings that look like animals but with a human-like posture and basic body structure. Amber’s ex-girlfriend was a rabbit, not a rat like her or her mother. Continue reading

A Taste of Excitement

Leave Me Alone by Kenket

Decided to write a small short story based on the above piece by Kenket. It’s one of my favorites of hers and I figured I could use it as a prompt for my writing.

I was trying to keep it shorter than my other stories (1K words or less), but it still clocked in at ~1,300 words. Essentially, I was trying to make this a flash fiction piece.

I also noticed that WordPress automatically inserts emjois, depending on which one you use. I was a little surprised at this; however, personally, I think they enhance the story a little bit since they’re in the context of a text message.

Anyway, enjoy!

It was just for one night; something to help him cut lose and have some fun once in a while. A typical Saturday night at a house party with fellow coworkers, friends, booze, bitches, and that Sunday morning regret him and his buddies met like an old friend. But it was where the ferret fell in love again since his high school days. Frank vowed never to do that again after the sour breakup with his first, and only, girlfriend in what felt like a lifetime ago. He hooked up with women, and a few men, in his college days sometimes, but nothing was serious beyond just messing around. Continue reading
